Feature
Resize video to 9:16, square or 16:9.
FluidCut renders clips in 9:16 vertical for YouTube Shorts, TikTok and Instagram Reels, in square, or in 16:9 landscape. For vertical and square output it frames the speaker so the person talking stays in the shot, and you can switch a finished clip to another format in the editor.
Pick a format, or let it choose
When you start a clip, choose 9:16 Vertical (the default), 16:9 Landscape, Square or Auto. Auto picks the format that suits the footage.
Which format for which platform
| Format | Best for |
|---|---|
| 9:16 vertical | YouTube Shorts, TikTok, Instagram Reels, Facebook Reels |
| Square | Feed posts on Instagram, LinkedIn and X |
| 16:9 landscape | YouTube, websites and presentations |
Change it later
Formats are not fixed at render time. Open a clip in the editor, switch the format or layout, and download the new version. Captions and B-roll are separate layers, so they move with the change. A new format is rendered from the source video, so switch soon after the job finishes: source videos are deleted within hours.
Questions
Will the speaker be cut off in vertical clips?
FluidCut frames the speaker for vertical and square output. If a shot needs a different crop, adjust the layout in the editor.
Does resizing cost extra?
No. Rendering a clip in another format does not use extra credits, as long as the source video is still stored.
What resolution are the files?
Clips are 1080p MP4 files with no watermark.
